Spent a day in my hometown, went to an outdoor concert and my sisters wanted to take PICTURES.

We now have a bunch of cute pictures of us.

Enjoying my two week vacations so far. Great people, great finds, great food.

I ate this enormous smoked meat sandwich yesterday at Schwartz’s on St-Laurent Street with a side of french fries and it was pure heaven.

I also went all the way up the stairs (256!) to the Mont Royal observatory. The gorgeous weather made for an amazing view of the city I lived in for many years.

Next stops: Quebec City, Washington, New York.

Never too old to wear a birthday hat. :)

It started with a boy turning 17…
Counting the candles

… and the girls running under the sun.

That gorgeous birthday cake made an entrance but quickly vanished.

Poker chips were won and lost.

The next day some stories were read …

“Happy birthday to you”, they sang. And I smiled, loving every minute of it.

Stuck in a traffic jam under a viaduc, the crowd had fun singing! Oooh heeeyyy…

"Hi Photo!" with tati (auntie) and mamama (grand-mommy).

My nephew participated in rock climbing end of season games last
Friday night. He was the only ‘kid’ there. Even though particpating
in those games made all of us squeal like little kids.

In this particular game, we had to pile crates as high as possible
WHILE standing on the top of pile. Most failed failed after 10 or 15 crates.
Some went up to 20.

But none of them went as high as 23. We all applaused and cheered him up.
That kid was so proud and it was amazing to witness. Big props to my
little friend.

Last week, my friend David held his annual fundraiser event for the Canadian Cancer Society.

Biking their way to the top

He starts at the bottom of a mountain and bikes his way to the top. When he finally reaches the top, 430 feet incline in the span of a mile, he comes back down and do it again.

This year, he climbed the mountain 17 times in 4 hours. Let me say this again, he did it 17 times!

He’s a hero and deserves all the praise in the world.

David

After 4 hours, he still finds the strenght to smile for a picture. What an inspiration. Thank you David for all you do.

Breakfast in bed

I’ve been reading in the morning before work for the last few days.

I sit in bed with a book (here, Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert) and a heathly breakfast and enjoy the quiet time before a chaotic day.

Strong women

My mother improved her 5k time by 4 minutes.

I improved my 10k time by 5 minutes.

My sister improved her 10k time by 10 minutes.

Surpassing yourself and feeling so proud of your family? Pure happiness.
